**Hours may vary based on volume of donations due to safety and/or available space. You can always call ReStore before arriving at (303) 776-3334 to inquire about a particular item or items you would like to donate to us.

Pick-ups are available by appointment only. Please complete the Donation Inquiry Form above to begin this process. We are currently scheduling pick-ups 3 weeks in advance.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, generates valuable revenue that enables Habitat build more decent, affordable houses.

ReStore makes every effort to return your call/email within 48 hours. We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 10AM-6PM.

ReStore Donation Guidelines

We have a few guidelines to ensure your donation process is a success! 

  • Donations may be eligible for a tax-deductible donation receipt.

  • All donations must be in good and re-usable/saleable condition.

  • All donations must be approved and are accepted/received at the ReStore's discretion. The lists below are general guidelines. Keep in mind the lists are not all inclusive and acceptance of donations are up to staff discretion.

  • All donations must be clean and in working order with all parts.

  • Furniture donations must not have stains, tears, pet damage, extensive wear, burn holes, or extensive odors.

  • All appliances must be less than ten years old, clean, no visible rust, and in good working condition.

  • The ReStore staff does not repair, recycle, or dispose of un-useable or un-saleable items on behalf of donors.

  • The ReStore reserves the right to refuse items based on space allocations or item condition.

What We Accept

Large and Small Appliances

All appliances must be less than 10 years old, clean, no visible rust, and in good working condition.

  • Refrigerators/Freezers

  • Washers/Dryers: Gas or electric

  • Ranges/Ovens/Cook-tops: Gas or electric

  • Stainless Tank Dishwashers (no plastic tanks)

  • Water Heaters: Gas, electric, or tankless

  • Swamp coolers

  • Window-mount air conditioners

  • Furnaces, heat pumps, AC Compressors: (less than 5 years old)

  • Humidifiers/ Dehumidifiers: (must be clean & functional)

  • Venting and Ductwork: (must be intact & undamaged)

  • Small Kitchen Appliances: Microwaves, Toasters, Blenders

  • Flat Screen Televisions

  • Flat Screen Computer Monitors

Furniture

  • Living Room: sofas, loveseats, chairs, coffee tables, side tables

  • Dining Room: tables and chairs

  • Bed Room: dressers, night stands, complete bed frames (head/foot boards, side rails), metal bed frames

  • Office furniture: Please email svrestoredonations@stvrainhabitat.org with photos first

  • Patio furniture

Tools & Hardware

  • Hand Tools

  • Power Tools: must be 18V power tools or higher

  • New boxed window coverings (with all hardware included)

Housewares/Home Decor

  • Kitchen: Cookware, bake ware, glassware, dishes, & utensils

  • Lamps: in working condition with undamaged cords

  • Home and garden decor

  • Holiday decor

  • Paintings/pictures

Indoor Building Materials

  • Complete cabinets

  • Stone countertops

  • Doors: solid core, paneled, storm, hollow core

  • Flooring: tile, hardwood, vinyl. Minimum of 100 sq. feet with the exception of smaller than 12” by 12” or deco tile sheets (which can be 50 sq. ft or more)

  • New carpet pads: Rolled knap side out with dimensions marked. Minimum 100 sq. feet.

  • Used area rugs: clean, unstained

  • New wall to wall carpet

  • Light fixtures/ceiling fans

  • Bathroom Fixtures: sinks, showers, low-flow toilets, faucets and fittings (no shiny gold), tubs (with prior approval from management)

  • Pipe/Fittings: PVC, steel, copper, PEX

  • Hardware/Electrical: nails, screws, nuts/bolts, switches, outlets, new plates, new wiring. Must be in original packaging.

Outdoor Building Materials

  • Lumber (like new): stick lumber no less than 6', trim no less than 4', sheet goods no less than ΒΌ sheet

  • Roofing: gutter, sheeting, new shingles

  • Siding

  • Vinyl Windows: complete units, double panes

  • Wood framed Windows (please call ahead - (303) 776-3334 ext. 201.

  • Landscaping: masonry bricks, blocks, pavers, stone, fencing

  • Cement mix

  • Exterior doors

Sporting Goods

  • Bicycles

  • Boats

  • Paddles

  • Balls

  • Bike equipment

  • Camping equipment

  • Travel luggage

  • Weights

Vintage and Antique Items

Must be saleable items. Accepted with the discretion of ReStore staff. Email restore@stvrainhabitat.org.

Firearms and Munitions

Must coordinate with management. Will not be accepted in the ReStore directly. Email ekepple@stvrainhabitat.org.

What We Cannot Accept

Large and Small Appliances

  • Plastic tub dishwashers

  • Appliances older than 10 years (exception for true antiques/ collectibles that can be restored - prior approval required)

  • Jetted tubs

Electronics

  • Plasma TVs

  • Console style TVs

  • Tube TVs

  • TVs without a stand

  • Computer monitors

  • Printers

  • Copy/fax machines

Furniture

  • Most mattresses not accepted (unless part of our resale relationship program and requires approval from manufacturer).

  • Used mattresses and box springs (unless part of our resale relationship program - e.g., Avocado, Purple, etc.)

  • Entertainment centers

  • China cabinets and hutches

We may be unable to accept your donation for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to:

  • the ReStore does not sell the category of the item

  • the item is damaged, dirty, rusting, or missing pieces or parts

  • the ReStore does not have necessary storage space

  • the item is too old

  • the ReStore has too many of the item on the sales floor already

  • The ReStore has difficulty selling the item or item category

  • the item does not meet additional quality standards

Unfortunately, there are many great donations we cannot accept.

Donation Pick-up Policy

  • We offer free pick-up of large furniture and other valuable items.

  • Please complete the Donation Inquiry Form to begin this process.

  • All pick-ups are scheduled in advance. We may require more advanced notice for scheduling. Thanks for your patience.

  • We are exercising stricter discretion with pick-up items in order to maintain safety standards.

  • Disclaimer: For insurance reasons, we cannot enter residences or navigate stair flights to move donations. All items for collection must be placed on the ground floor, outside the residence, or in a garage. Please be aware that our driver has the final decision on accepting items based on their condition and other criteria.
